Wireless signal on Linux

I’m puzzled right now since I can surf smoothly on Linux with signal strength @ 34% while on Windows no wireless networks are detected. I bet Linux has a better profile for managing wireless connections. On the other side, windows focuses more on less energy consumption while Linux does not have this feature built-in. Of course, my laptop’s battery drains faster on Linux but the performance hit is less than that suffered on windows.

I am rather impressed since transfer rate which I acquired is 50KB/s on a 512K Line and Windows doesn’t even detect my Livebox’s SSID :(
